Russia sells diamonds worth $31,709 from state fund

MOSCOW, Aug 31 (PRIME) -- The Russian Finance Ministry sold 213.47 carats of polished diamonds worth U.S. $31,709 from the State Fund of Precious Metals and Precious Stones at an auction on Tuesday, the ministry said in a statement late on Wednesday.

The authority also said that it sold 32.04 carats of natural emeralds worth $879.29 at the auction.
